Sure missed playing "Streak" the past few days as I was out of town, selling advertising. (how inconvenient!) At least I made the rent and can sleep in my own bed this weekend. The streak is up to 4 and we are looking for win no. 5 this morn as I picked golfer Bo Van Pelt to finish with a better round today than Bill Haas. No, I have never heard of these guys, but it's a 50/50 proposition and I chose Van Pelt because the Moon is transiting his Jupiter in Aries. Our next pick will be golfer Geoff Ogilvy over Camilo Villegas in match play. This is not such an easy pick as Villegas is the favorite and has been playing superbly (yes, i researched it). Vilegas should continue to play well as the transiting Node is conjunct his natal Venus. If Ogilvy should win, it would be something of an upset. What makes me think that this is likely? The Sun is making a trine to his natal Uranus, planet of upsets. He will certainly surprise some people today, perhaps even himself. The Moon transits his Jupiter by sextile also, which brings much luck with it.
Or I could choose to leave this matchup alone and instead take Luke Donald over Ernie Els in another match that starts at roughly the same time. The streakmaster only allows one pick at a time and you have to wait until it is final before you can pick another. (kind of annoying). The main difference between these two charts is that Els is receiving a square from the transiting Moon to natal Mars. This combination indicates the type of emotional turmoil that accompanies losing. Donald, on the other hand, is receiving the supportive trine from the Moon to his natal Sun/Neptune conjunction. Neptune, as the planet of extremes, brings out the best and worst in all of us, depending on the current transits. Look for Donald to play his best golf.
This evening I will pick the Lakers over the Nuggets. This game sets up nicely for the Nuggets as they have had a couple days off, while the Lakers played last night at home and must travel to Denver for tonite's game.Too many good aspects in Phil Jackson's chart to pick against him tho as his natal Uranus is benefiting from Moon/Mercury/Mars/Venus, Pluto squaring his Jupiter indicates internal power struggles on the team, but now is not the time to oppose Jackson successfully. Nuggets coach George Karl's transits are not terrible, and I expect his team to play reasonably well. In the end tho, the Moon's opposition to his natal Neptune should leave him with the taste of losing in his mouth. Look for an exciting finish that will fall to the Lakers.
Oh yes, forgot to mention that the Louisville Cardinals had little trouble with the Georgetown Hoyas for win number 4 in my streak. Hoya coach Thompson had that "Hey, what happened?" look on his face most of the game, that accompanies hard aspects from the current Saturn/Uranus opposition. Speaking of this opposition, I have noticed a lot of games recently with wild point swings. Texas A&M came back to win on a buzzer beater after trailing by as many as 18. Kansas was way down early against OU, stormed back to go up by a lot, then nearly lost as OU made a big run to make it close at the end. Expect to see a lot more of these types of sudden reversals and twists of fate until further notice sometime next year.
One more thing...Transiting Neptune doing a number on OU coach Jeff Capel as the conj. to his natal Sun indicates lingering effects from the Blake Griffin injury. It may take awhile for Griffin to get back to speed. Meanwhile Capel will have to inspire others to pick up the slack.
